Evaluation waiting time of patients at the pharmacy and the out-patient departments of the AZP
A study assessing waiting times of patients at 13 out-patient departments and the pharmacy of the Academic Hospital Paramaribo was conducted in July 2015.
The purpose of this study was to measure the lead time of the patients as an indication of the healthcare quality in the hospital. A number of lead times were calculated, such as the waiting time for registration, waiting time for a consult/operation, the total lead time of a patient etc.
The Research Center plenary presented and discussed the results with the operations managers and sent the specific sub-reports to each department. The operations managers will evaluate these results within their board meetings. The results will be used to implement a more patient- oriented health care in the Academic Hospital Paramaribo.
